WW1 1869M Austro-Hungarian / Austrian Cavalry
Officers Sword, Sold |
In good condition, a WW1 1869M Austro-Hungarian / Austrian Cavalry
Officers Sword (Österreich Kavallerie Offiziers-Säbel
Muster 1869).

Clearly for dress rather than battle, the sword is, non e the less,
a very attractive one courtesy of the gilt hilt with Austro-Hungarian
double eagle to the cartouche.

The plain plated 28 1/4 inch blade is firm in the hilt. The hilt
retains most gilt and is overall very good. The faux fishskin grip
is very good, as is the single strand twisted grip wire binding.
The light steel scabbard has light (treated) rust. The sword sheathes
and draws well.
Quite a rare sword. Only £? (too late, now sold). Please
quote item reference U70 (0910). Further / full sized images available
upon request.
