WW1 Serbian Cavalry Officer's SwordWW1 Serbian Cavalry Officer's Sword

Sold Item Notice

Ironically made by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie (Company) of Solingen, the Central Powers (Germany, Austria, Hungary, etc.) invaded Serbia and committed tremendous atrocities against the Serbs. This sword bears the officer's initials (F B) to the scabbard and inner guard / hilt.

The mostly plain 32 3/4 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt in good condition as is the black Bakelite type grip. The bronzed steel scabbard is good but has lost its chape / drag, as a consequence the sword does not sheath fully.

What a rare sword and who knows, maybe the officer can be researched. A bargain for just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference U69 (0911). Further / full sized images available upon request.
