IoM State Presentation Sword to Lieut Governor Sir G Bromet, Sold

In good condition, the Isle of Man State Presentation Sword to Lieutenant Governor Sir G Bromet.

This is the appreciation presentation sword given by First Deemster and Clerk of the Rolls S J Kneale C.B.E. to Air Vice Marshall Sir Geoffrey Bromet for his outstanding service as Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man from 1945 to 1952. We bought this along with Geoffrey Rhodes Bromet's senior RAF officers sword and his diplomatic sword from his family (at auction). The sword, made by Wilkinson, is a replica of the original state sword of 1422.

The 29 7/8 inch lightly etched blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt all good, as is the original polished wooden grip .
