ERII British Rifle Regiment Officer's Wilkinson Sword, Sold

In good condition, an ERII (Queen Elizabeth 2nd) British Rifle Regiment Officer's Wilkinson Sword, blade etched with original owner's / officer's initial.

Serial number 74314 for 1954, etched "P E W" to blade. Royal Armouries have a copy of the Wilkinson Sales ledger and will research and provide a scan of the entry for £10, which would hopefully identify the original officer / owner.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is in good condition but with some patina spots and a couple of small rust patches, firm in the hilt. Hilt generally good but with light rusting inside and a few spots on the outside. Grip with wear and a couple of small moth type holes. The grip wire is good but with some tarnish and a little movement. Original leather sword knot with a weak section near the knot itself. The leather field service scabbard and belts good but with age and wear. The sword sheathes and draws well.
