WW1 1908 Pattern British Cavalry Trooper’s
Sword (Sold) |
Good condition, well used, 1908 pattern British cavalry trooper's
sabre / sword, originally made in 1913 by EFD (Enfield)

This is a very well used British 1908 Pattern cavalry trooper's
sabre from the First World War. Originally dated 1913 and then re-dated
1915 (when it was reissued with a new scabbard bearing the same
year) with a good number of inspection marks to the blade's ricasso
means it has been around, quite likely even seen action in early
WW1 when cavalry still were used.

The darkened bowl (for field service use) has a few small dings
but nothing much, the blade some patina, the grip a little worn
(from being held) but overall in very good order. The scabbard is
mostly good, one retaining screw missing but the blade still holds
inside well enough. This sabre was made at the Government owned
Enfield small arms factory. Further pictures available upon request.
