1854 Pattern British Infantry Officer's Sword,
Sold |
In good to very good condition, an 1854 Pattern British Infantry
Officer's Sword.

Etched at the ricasso to retailer Palmer of Woolwich. The steel
scabbard denotes for field rather than dress use.

The 33 inch blade is exceptionally good condition and firm in the
hilt. The brass hilt has some bends (knocks) as it common with these
brass gothic hilted swords, but is generally very good. The fishskin
grip with enough wear to show this sword was held frequently; wire
bindings are good. Steel scabbard with some knocks and pitting here
and there but sound. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A very good, well above average example. A bargain at £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference U36 (0856). Further
/ full sized images upon request..
