Mid Victorian Constabulary (Police Officer's) Sword, sold

In good condition, a Mid Victorian Constabulary (Police Officer's) Sword.

No maker's or police force markings and in such good condition so as most likely to be a stores item (never issued). But 100% mid-Victorian authentic as has age.

The 26 inch blade is in very good condition, just a couple of patina (inert rust) patches, otherwise as new. Blade firm in the hilt. The brass hilt very good, as is the black fishskin grip (no grip wire, most of these swords never had grip wire). The small round locking pin button is there and works well (most of these got broken off over time). The leather of the scabbard with drying / age; crazing. Otherwise the scabbard good with the sword drawing and sheathing well (locking mechanism works well).
