Sold Item Notice

The belt is marked to quality retailer Gieves (who mostly sold Wilkinson Swords etched with their name), but this sword has no maker's or retailer's name to it, so perhaps just they came from Gieves. Folding guard section engraved to officer "P M Coston, RN"

The 31 1/4 inch blade is overall good but with some patina spots and rubbing. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt with some blue tarnish but overall good. The faux fishskin grip is loosing some white (can easily be "enhanced" with some white shoe / boot polish) but is overall good, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. Original sword knot a bit grubby and frayed. The leather and gilt metal scabbard overall good. The leathers belts with some age / slight cracking and wear but still good. The sword sheathes and draws well.

Nice example with the belts. Only £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference U18 (0821). Further / full sized images available upon request.
