In good but slightly damaged condition, a rare Waterloo / Napoleonic French Artillery Officer's Blue & Gilt Etched Dirk.

Almost certainly a Battle of Waterloo bring back war trophy, a really rare Napoleonic French Artillery Officer's Dirk, blade finely Blue & Gilt Etched.

The 16 inch blade in very good condition, some scuffing, a tiny amount of pitting inside one side's fuller / groove, plenty of fine blue and gilt etch remaining, and firm in the hilt. The brass hilt in good order except for a missing quillon finale and the small loose dress chain that once linked it to the pommel. The fine engraved brass scabbard with small knocks / dings and age but still good. The dirk sheathes and draws very well.
