Late 16C / Early 17C Hungarian Type Polish
Sabre, Sold |
In very good condition, a rare late 16C / early 17C Hungarian
Type Polish Sabre (Szabla Wegiersko-Polska).

As superb as it is rare, a late 16C / early 17C Hungarian Type Polish
Sabre (Szabla Wegiersko-Polska). Polish because of the maker's mark
to the blade and overall style; we could not identify the maker's
mark, but it is very similar to other known distinctive Polish and
Solingen marks for the period.

The 30 inch curved blade is in exceptionally good condition for
its age and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard equally is in top
condition given this sword is around 400 years old. The grip, believed
original is good though aged and worn.
Look, really, these sabers sell for £3000 or more at specialist
auctions and retailers! But you can buy this well above average
example from us for only £? (too late, now sold). Please quote
item reference T96 (0796). Further / full sized images available
upon request.
