Victorian British Light Infantry Rifle Regiment Officer's Sword, Sold

In good condition, a Victorian British Light Infantry Rifle Regiment Officer's Sword.

Victorian British Light Infantry Rifle Regiment Officer's Swordimage T93 1

Sold Item Notice

NO maker or retailer name to the ricasso, so the sword was made for the retailer / outfitter trade but the retailer was small or the officer did not want their details on it. Besides that, a really nice sword with its chemically blackened scabbard.

The 32 5/16 inch blade is in overall very good condition and firm in the hilt, a little patina but not much. The steel hilt has a light steady pitting but is good. Grip with wear and some twisted grip wires are gone, but overall good. Very nice period chemically blackened steel scabbard is good, some loss of colour and a very light pitting / patina towards the throat, but not much. The sword sheathed and draws well.

A very nice, well above average sword for just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference T93 (0832). Further / full sized images available upon request.
