The 34 5/8 inch period sharpened blade in exceptionally good condition
and firm in the hilt. The hilt with some age / patina and a little
denting / bending, but not very much; overall good. The fishskin
grip in very good condition, as are the silver metal strands of
grip twist wire. Steel field service scabbard (not dress) in good
condition but with some age. The sword sheathes and draws well but
can be stiff when sheathing.
Very nice sword with full provenance on a successful Boer War
British cavalry officer. A great deal at only £? (too late,
now sold). Please quote item reference T69 (0808). Further / full
sized photos available upon request.
