1796P Napoleonic British Light Cavalry Trooper's
Sabre, Sold |
In overall good though aged condition, a 1796P Napoleonic British
Light Cavalry Trooper's Sabre by Woolley.

Woolley was one of the foremost makers of the time, and of this
pattern of sabre. The remains of the crown view mark indicates this
sabre saw regular (front line) cavalry regiment use.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in good but a little worn condition, firm
in the hilt. The hilt with some pitting and a heavy black patina.
The grip has most of its original leather remaining but it is getting
thin. The steel scabbard is also pitted and blackened from patina,
but sound. The sword sheathes and draws quite well.
Iconic Napoleonic British sabre by a quality maker. Well worth £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference T50 (0756). Further
