19C British RHG Hunting Sword, 16C Passau Wolf Blade, sold

In fair condition, an unusual composite Georgian / early 19C British Royal Horse Guards Hunting Sword with 16C Passau Wolf Blade.

Unusual to say the least. A cut down 16th Century Passau Wolf blade remounted into a part (pommel and back piece) Georgian / early Victorian Royal Horse Guards hilt. You make your own opinion on it. But it is clearly period and most likely a RHG officer's sword which he converted for hunting use.

19 1/4 Inch blade aged but good and firm in the grip / hilt. Grip and twisted grip wire bindings all very good.
