                | Late 19C Argentine Naval Officers Sword by
Horster of Solingen, Sold | In good overall condition, a late 19C Argentine Naval Officers
              Sword by Horster of Solingen.

A rare sword but with a bent blade (corresponds with period damage
to scabbard). The bending should be fairly easy to straighten out
but maybe that would detract from its history. Bought back from
Argentina by a Victorian Royal Navy officer.

The 28 3/4 inch well etched blade is in very good condition except
for said bend, firm in the hilt. The hilt in very good condition,
as is the ivorine (synthetic ivory) grip. The scabbard has a break
corresponding with the bend in the blade, plus some other perhaps
related loss just above the break. Otherwise the scabbard is quite
good. The sword sheathes and draws tightly. A rare sword indeed. You can own this one for just £? (too
late, now sold). Please quote item reference T03 (0722). Further
/ full sized images upon request.
