WW2 British RN Officer's Sword, Belt, Cap
and Medals, Sold |
In very good condition, a WW2 British RN Officer's Sword, Belt,
Cap and Medals, the cap marked to Surg. Lieut. Com. P. S. Turner

We only have the name in the cap, but the sword, cap, belts and
medals all tie in, so we presume this is the sword, etc. of Surg.
Lieut. Com. P. S. Turner. The five medals are 1939-1945 Star, Atlantic
Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-1949.

The 31 3/8 inch grey etched blade is in very good condition, some
age / wear, but not too much, and firm in the hilt. The hilt overall
very good. The fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings are
very good. The original sword knot good but aged and with some strands
loose. The leather and gilt fittings scabbard are good, the folding
guard section works well and locates onto the scabbard pin as it
should. Belts with aged but good. Cap with some age and spots (stains)
but good. Medals in good order. The sword sheathes and draws well.
What a great bundle around a good condition high quality sword.
