Edward 8th British Infantry Officer's Sword,
Sold |
A rare Edward 8th British Infantry Officer's Sword, in fair condition.

Because King Edward 8th only reigned from the 20th January 1936
to the 11th December 1936 during a period of peace (with no real
inclination of the looming war), there were very few EVIII swords
made; this is one of them.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in aged but sound condition and firm in
the hilt. The hilt with inert rust / patina spots but in good shape.
The fishskin grip with wear; the twisted grip wire bindings are
good. Remains of original sword knot. The leather field service
scabbard with age but sound. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Rare sword, rare low price; £? (too late, now sold). Please
quote item reference S27 (0619). Further / full sized images available
upon request.
