19C Indian Tulwar with makers mark, sold |
In overall good condition, a 19C Indian Tulwar with makers mark.

This tulwar has the remains of a maker's mark on the hilt by the
hilt. It also has a knucklebow once, which was removed probably
period for more hand space (the grip was often too small, so knucklebows
and pommels were often removed).

The 29 inch solid and quite heavy blade has some inert rust spots
but is otherwise good and firm in the hilt. The hilt good, with
remains of decoration still visible. The red felt scabbard, probably
a replacement, in good order for age. The sword sheathes and draws
well but does not fully sheath (small gap).
A decent sword to say the least. Yours for £? (too late,
now sold) . Please quote item reference S15 (0623). Further / full
sized images available upon request.
