Ricasso etched to "F W Flights High Street Winchester" who used that trading style until 1919. Flights swords were made by Wilkinson, and the quality shows. Serial number to the spine is 4552.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in exceptionally good condition and firm in the hilt (sharpened towards the point, so some sharpening scuffing there). The plated steel hilt and scabbard have equally aged (inert rust / patina patches), but are sound. The fishskin grip and associated grip wire bindings are good. The sword sheathes and draws well.

This sword is crying out for refurbishment (to have the hilt and scabbard replated) to get a superb sword. Go on, you know you should: £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference R97 (0593). Further / full sized images available upon request.
