French 1845/55 Model Infantry Officer's Sword, Walnut Grip, Sold

In good condition, a guaranteed authentic French 1845/1855 Model Infantry Officer's Sword, Walnut Grip. "Sabre d Adjudant d Infanterie, modèle 1855."

Not made by Chatellerault but a smaller "fourbisseur" (maker) as no visible maker's inscription.

The 30 3/8 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt / grip with age but good, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The steel scabbard is aged (some light rust) but good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
