WW2 / George VI Rifle Regiment Officer's
Sword, Sold |
In good overall condition, a WW2 / George VI Rifle Regiment Officer's
Sword.

With no maker's name to the ricasso, this sword was probably bought
through a retailer actually during WW2, when such detail was not
important.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is in good condition, a bit aged and scuffed,
but the etching still nice and clear. The blade is firm in the hilt,
which itself is in good condition. The fishskin grip a little aged
but good; the twisted grip wire also good but a lesser strand missing
(one turn only). The plated steel scabbard has lost some plating
and gained some light rust, but remains sound. The sword sheathes
and draws well.
A nice sword at a nicer; £? (too late, now sold). Please
quote item reference R22 (0495). Further / full sized images available
upon request.
