Trooper's Sabre

Post 1884 because the scabbard only has one suspension ring. The
date inscription to the spine has been rubbed, but it shows 1822
for the model. The leather on the grip has distorted / shrunk and
come out from under the guard / ferrule, but it may be possible
to rehydrate and then reposition it. Matching rack numbers (159).

The 36 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt.
The hilt / guard good. The grip as previously described; the grip
wire is still present. The heavy steel scabbard has some form rust
but it very sound. The sabre sheathes and draws well.
Nice sword, great price; £? (too late, now sold). Please
quote item reference number Q93 (0477). Further / full sized pictures
available upon request.
