In good condition, a French Model 1833 Naval Cutlass, Chatellerault, dated 1837.

Marked to the spine, "Manuf're R'ale de Chatellerault 9'bre 1837" (manufactured royal of Chatellerault September 1837). Complete with correct poinçons (inspection stamps) to the forte, this is a guaranteed 100% authentic French Model 1833 Naval Cutlass.

The 26 1/2 inch blade is in good condition,some scuffing, the anchors still visible. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard with patina and with a light pitting. The grip in equal condition. The leather of the scabbard is cracked and aged but sound. The cutlass sheathes and draws well.
