French Model 1831 foot artillery sword, Sold

In sound overall condition, a French Model 1831 foot artillery sword (coupe choux / cabbage chopper).

The 18 3/4 inch blade has areas of pitting but is solid / sound and firm in the hilt. The hilt is overall good. The scabbard is aged and has shrunk a little, but is sound. The sword sheathes and draws well; slight gap between scabbard top and hilt when fully sheathed due to leather shrinkage.
