Sales enquiries

A "regular (standard)" shun gunto except for the iron tsuba. This is original to the katana but one normally associated with those for civilian swords for military use. No signature to the tang (nakago), possibly gendaito.

The 25 1/4 inch blade is in is good but with some light patina / rust patches and war / scrapes, though the hamon is still quite clear. The fittings are all pretty much in good though aged condition, the Koiguchi (throat collar) is missing from the scabbard. The sword sheathes and draws well enough but some saya / scabbard liner wood dust appears on the blade.

An interesting gunto with the iron tsuba (with the obligatory emperor's cherry blossoms) and prospect it may be gendaito. Get it quick; £? (too late!). Please quote item reference Q19 (0334). Further / full sized images available upon request.
