Fusiliers Officer's Wilkinson Sword.


In very good overall condition, a scarce WW1 Royal Northumberland
Fusiliers Officer's Sword, by Wilkinson. Serial number 46422 for
1914 (unfortunately, the Wilkinson sales ledger for this period
is no longer, so the original officer owner can not be identified).

The
32 /12 inch plain blade is in very good condition except for a little
patina and firm in the hilt. The hilt is in very good condition.
The grip with some wear, the twisted grip wire bindings are good.
The leather sword knot is aged and one strap has broken while the
other is tearing. The leather field scabbard is good, the frog and
straps are aged and weakened but still pretty sound. The sword sheathes
and draws well.
A scarce sword in very good / well above average example condition.
Very affordable at £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item
