The 34 3/4 inch blade is in very good condition, the forward cutting edge (away from the etching) has been period field sharpened, almost certainly for the Boer War. Blade firm in the hilt. The browned (camouflaged) hilt / guard is in very good shape. The fishskin grip has wear. A couple of the twisted grip wire turns have lost a couple of fine strands but is otherwise still good. The steel scabbard is in overall good condition but most of the browning has been cleaned off. The sword sheathes and draws well enough but a little loosely.

A really well made sword in very good condition. One of the best and for only £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Q02 (0297). Further / full sized images available upon request.
