17/18C Firangi with massive 101cm European
blade, Sold |
In very good condition for its age, a 17/18C Firangi with massive
101cm European blade.

A heavy and exceptionally impressive sword; perfect for a mounted
(on elephant) soldier. The name "firangi" means "(Western
European) foreigner", as this is where the blades came from.

The superb 101 cm blade (tip to hilt) has a lovely steady patina
and a few period small nicks. Blade firm in hilt; the hilt generally
good, some wear / slight damage, nothing much.
This will scare the living daylights out of anyone you point it
at (not recommended). Such a great sword for just £? (too
late, now sold). Please quote item reference P72 (0236). Further
/ full sized images available upon request.
