33.7cm blade with feint etching remaining (no maker's details to ricasso / forte). Blade firm in hilt. The hilt aged but good, the grip overall good but missing the grip wire and with some age cracks down one side. Our price was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference P63 (0254). When knowledeable collectors voice opinion, I add it to a listing. Here is one such opinion;

This is not an Imperial German Navy dagger, but it is from the Reichsmarine, 1919-1935
Some previous Imperial Navy daggers had been converted, the Crown pommel replaced by a neutral pommel, as in picture below. Parts were readily supplied by the manufacturers.
The quillion however, is of the newer, post-1919 pattern, as later used in the Kriegsmarine, 1935-45.
