French 1821M Klingenthal Infantry Officer's Sword, Horn Grip, Sold

In good condition, a French 1821M Klingenthal Infantry Officer's Sword with Deluxe Horn Grip, dated June 1833.

The deluxe horn grip would have cost the officer more to have and is nice / unusual in that one side is dark, the other light. Feint etching to spine; "Mnufre Royale du Klingenthal Juin 1833"

The 29 5/8 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt mostly good. The horn grip has just a couple of minor chips; the twisted grip wire bindings are good. Leather scabbard with brass fittings aged but good though the top fitting is loose (can simply be glued if desired). The sword sheathes and draws well.

A very nice example at just; £? (too late,. now sold). Please quote item reference P39 (0248).
