WW2 German Kriegsmarine Senior / Flag Officers
Dirk Dagger, Sold |
In very good condition, a super rare WW2 Nazi German Kriegsmarine
senior / flag officer's dirk / dagger, by Horster.

With bespoke, special order high grade brass fittings, the workmanship
of particularly the hand crafted scabbard is exceptional. This deluxe
version of a WW2 Nazi German Kriegsmarine dagger is made even more
collectible and valuable above other rare deluxe models are the
oak leaves and acorns; this dagger / dirk was once the property
of one of Nazi Germany's most senior naval officers.

The 9 3/8 inch etched blade is in very good condition but with
some wear and staining; the etching is authentic period acid etched
(not post war). The blade is firm in the hilt. The grip is a little
grubby and worn, plus the twisted grip wire is missing (this can
be fairly easily replaced). The fitting are of pure high grade brass,
not gilt metal; there are a couple of very small steel section pins
(such as two of the back feathers of the eagle) used to make the
dirk stronger. The scabbard is superb, a mass of oak leaves and
acorns, even to the suspension rings. The dagger sheathes and draws
well. The locking pin mechanism works. Please note: the small felt
stopper does come with the dagger (it fell off and was missed out
of the photos).
Regular deluxe WW2 Kriegsmarine dirks sell for over $10,000 in
the USA; this flag officer's dirk is in a league above them due
to the rank of the original officer owner. There will never likely
be another one available to buy, so a huge investment opportunity
here at £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference
