1897 Pattern Northumberland Fusiliers Officer's
Sword For Sale |
An extremely rare Edward 7th 1897 Pattern Northumberland Fusiliers
Officer's sword.
An extremely rare and highly sought after sword of the Royal Northumberland
Fusiliers renowned for their acts in the Boer War, WW1 and WW2.
This rare sword is made even rarer by the fact it is in near parade
ground condition, save for a few minor patina marks to the blade.
The levee weight blade itself is finely etched including the Northumberland
Fusiliers arms and motto plus maker's name Hawkes & Co of London.
The flying bomb emblem of the regiment located on the hilt just
below the Royal Cypher of Edward 7th, dating this sword to 1901
to 1910. The sword, hilt and grip are all firm. The fishskin grip
and ring bindings are in exceptionally good condition like the rest
of the sword. The plated scabbard is virtually flawless. There is
even a doeskin case to go with it. Further pictures available upon
request.
