1893M Swedish Cavalry Sword Smaland Hussars Regiment K4, sold

In good overall condition, a 1893M Swedish Cavalry Sword for the Smaland Hussars Regiment K4.

A highly impressive sword which most people would think was for a Cuirassier given the almighty long and straight blade, but actually not, this one is for the Smålands husarregemente K4.

The 37 inch straight blade is magnificent, in very good condition and firm in the hilt. Marked E. SVALLING ESHILSTUNA HK GM to one side of the forte, with 5th Troop weapon 235 of K4 regiment markings to the obverse. The browned brass hilt is also very impressive, some marks but generally good. The hardwood grip has lost its covering but is still good. Unusual steel scabbard in good order. The sword sheathes and draws well.
