In superb condition, reputed to have been in South Africa during the Boer Warm a lovely 1821P British Artillery officer's sword with field gun and flaming canon ball motif for the Royal Field / Horse Artillery. Retailed by Price Whittaker & Co of Suffolk Street, Pall Mall, London.

The 32 1/4 blade is in very good condition, minimal rubbing / aging, and firm in the hilt. The browned steel three bar hilt / guard in good order, the fishskin grip in very good condition, with some sign or wear through being held, the twisted grip wire bindings also very good. The but with some rubbing / wear; it has been period sharpened (not so sharp now) and is firm in the hilt. The browned steel scabbard in good condition, some aging / wear but not much. The sword sheathes and draws very well.
