Sales enquiries

Clearly British (not Prussian) made but devoid of any markings and with officer grade twisted grip wire bindings, this could be an officer's campaign sword but is most likely a yeomanry sergeant major's sword, privately purchased by a reservist / volunteer cavalry regiment.

The 34 3/4 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt (no marks to the blade / spine). The three bar steel guard with age / rust pitting. The original leather grip with "ear" for a trooper / NCO is aged but sound. The steel scabbard in good condition, but with some rust pitting. The sword sheathes and draws well.

1821P trooper swords generally had the longest and harshest service lives of all British swords, so it is very rare to get one in such good condition; yours for only £(too late, now sold - but we will divulge the original sales price for a small fee). Please quote item reference number O28 (1381). Further / full sized images upon request.
