Napoleonic French Naval Officer's Blue & Gilt Etched Dirk, for sale

In fair to good condition, a Napoleonic French naval officer's blue and gilt etched dirk.

With some blue and gilt etch remaining, this Napoleonic era French naval dirk has an ivory grip / hilt (cracking from pommel nut) and was once a very fine navy officer's dagger indeed. 8 1/8 Inch blade in aged but good condition, a little loose in the hilt. The dirk sheathes and draws well. The sheath has lost most of its gilt but is still in good shape. Bought in the UK, who knows where this dirk was liberated from its original owner!
