Victorian Scottish Highland Infantry Officer's
Broadsword, sold |
In good overall condition, a Victorian Scottish Highland Infantry
Officer's Broadsword.

No maker's name, but 100% authentic guaranteed (has correct brass
proof disc / slug) and fishskin grip (reproductions have pigskin
leather grips and incorrect proof slugs). The lack of a maker's
/ retailer's name normally means the officer / buyer did not want
to pay the extra to have one etched onto his sword.

The 31 1/4 inch blade is in good condition, well etched, and is
firm in the hilt. The hilt good, the flattened bars indicating circa
1880 to 1900 manufacture (Boer War era). The fishskin grip in good
condition but has lost its grip wire (a relatively easy home replacement
job for someone). No scabbard, but these can often be found sold
separately.
Nice sword for just £(sales pricing available for a small
fee). Please quote item reference O18 (1350). Further / full sized
images upon request.
