Sales enquiries

Please note: the current price shown below is subject to change. We have requested details from the Wilkinson sales ledger for this sword, serial number 27577 (1886) to hopefully determine the original officer; this may well increase the sales price. The blade is an 1854 pattern by Wilkinson which has been re-hilted when the new regulation 1895 pattern hilt was mandated.

The 32 7/8 inch (1 1/8 inch at forte / ricasso) single fullered blade was built for use and has been period sharpened, almost certainly by the maker, Wilkinson Sword, as the sharpening has been done well so as not to ruin the blade. Etching still clear but with some patina / light rust. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt with very minor / small rust spots / plating bubbles. Grip very good; the twisted grip wire a little wayward perhaps one side. The stout / sturdy Victorian leather field scabbard is typical for pre-1895 pattern blades, and in good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.

Currently available for £(too late, now sold - but we will divulge the original sales price for a small fee). Please quote item reference number M88 (1291). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
