French 1866M Chassepot Yataghan sword bayonet, Sold

In overall good to very good condition, a M1866 French Chassepot / Yataghan sword bayonet, matching serial number, St Etienne 1874.

22 3/4 inch blade in very good condition and firm in the hilt. Marked St Etienne 1874 to spine. The brass hilt aged and worn but still good, the locking pin mechanism still works; light rust pitting to steel areas. Browned scabbard also with light pitting here and there. Bayonet sheathes and draws well. Matching serial numbers to cross guard and scabbard / sheath.
