Austrian 1845 Model Cavalry Trooper's Sword
/ Sabre, Sold
|
In good condition, an Austrian 1845 Model Cavalry Trooper's Sword
/ Sabre.

Marked Eisenhower ("iron cutting" a statement of traditional
quality blade making) to one side of the forte and "Wester
& Co Prussia" the other, Wester & Co made swords for
the Austrian army and for use in the US Civil War.

The mighty 34 7/16 inch blade is in very good condition for its
age and firm in the hilt. The steel hilt also very good. The grip
with signs of wear and age, but again good. The heavy steel scabbard
equally in good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
This is a well above average example of a brutal cavalry sword.
