WW1 era / George V British Royal Artillery
Officer's Sword, sold |
In very good condition, a lovely George 5th (WW1 era) British
Royal Artillery Officer's Sword.

Serial number 1433 to spine. This sword has had its blade professionally
replated, almost certainly period, so the etching is there, but
not as crisp as it once was (if it were plated again more recently,
the etching would be much fainter).

The 33 3/4 inch blade is in very good condition, but with a small
amount of plating loss towards the point, as is to be expected as
the blade is sheathed and drawn. Hilt in very good order, as is
the fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings. The field service
leather scabbard and straps are good; the sword sheathes and draws
well.
An outstanding investment. Please quote item reference number K27
(1165). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
