Circa 1840 Spanish Isabella II Infantry Officer's
A rare Carlist War era Spanish royalist infantry officer's sword,
British made, bearing the Bourbon Royal Coat of Arms, in very good
condition. Circa 1840, Español, Isabel II, la espada del
oficial de Infantería.
An exceptionally rare sword made even more desirable by being in
exceptionally good condition. British made (1822 pattern), most
likely circa 1840. The Spanish House of Bourbon Royal Coat of Arms
for Queen Isabella II / Regent Maria Cristina of Bourbon present
to both the blade etching and hilt cartouche.
The 32 1/4 inch blade is in exceptionally good condition, except
for a few minor period nicks to the forward cutting edge which only
add to the value / attraction. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt in very
good order, the inner folding guard section works well. The fishskin
grip with twisted grip wire bindings in very good condition. The
steel scabbard a little aged but in good sound condition. The sword
sheathes and draws well.
An absolutely stunning rare sword for only £800; just try
