1854 Pattern Dublin marked British Infantry
Officer's Sword, Sold
In very good overall condition, an 1854 pattern British infantry
officer's sword etched to P Shaw 15 Dawson Street Dublin.
A must have for Irish sword collectors, a quality Dublin marked
The 32 3/4 inch quality etched blade is in very good condition
and firm in the hilt. The gilt / brass hilt is good, some roughness
around the edges, but this should be expected with brass hilts.
The grip also good, a little wayward lesser grip wire strand, but
overall very good. The lovely gilt metal on leather field service
scabbard has gilt loss and leather age but is still good and looks
the part. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A well above average example and with Irish provenance, just £(sorry,
