An impressive cavalry sword and in very good condition. Marked to the spine Manufacture d’armes de Chatellerault JH (Jacob Holtzer was the contractor for the sale of these weapons to South America.

The 33 1/4 inch blade is in overall very good condition, some light pitting one side towards the point, not much, bearing the Chilean coat of arms to the forte, and firm in the hilt. The steel hilt in overall good condition, the grip in very good order. Various stamps to hilt, blade and scabbard. The steel scabbard with some small dents, not too many. The sword sheathes and draws well.
