Rare 1850 British Artillery Dundas Sword,
sold |
In good condition, one of if not the rarest British military swords,
an 1850 British artillery Dundas by Deakin.

A sword that is so rare, they come up for sale approximately every
10 years. Designed for artillery use, the few that actually were
made were apparently instead used by Customs officers. No markings
remaining to the blade, but the Deakin name can just be made out
on the spine of the blade.

The 28 1/4 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt.
The heavy brass hilt is also good. If you do not buy this one, don't
hold your breath for the next one to come along; it won't happen.
Just its rarity makes it a must have for the serious British military
sword collector and therefore worth every penny of £? (too
late, now sold). Please quote item reference number J07 (1109).
