1860M US Civil War Cavalry Sabre, Roby, Dated 1864, Sold

In good condition, a United States Civil War cavalry sabre made by Roby of Chelmsford.

Guaranteed authentic US Civil War / 1860M cavalry sabre (be warned, most 1860M's are reproductions; this sabre is guaranteed authentic). This sword has its original grip wire intact but no scabbard.

Made by / marked to "C Roby Chelmsford Mass", with correct inspection stamp "US 1864 A.G.M."

The 34 3/4 inch blade is in good order, firm in the hilt. The hilt in good shape, no apparent damage. The leather grip is in good condition for its age, some surface spot / patch losses, but not too much, and the twisted grip wire is intact.
