In good to very good condition, a Hawksworth of Sheffield made 1897P World War One era British infantry officer's sword.

A lovely quality WW1 sword. Clearly made during the mid to late war period due to the stamped "proved" mark. A quality and sturdy sword made in the capital of fine steel at that time, Sheffield, England.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is very well etched and in very good condition for its age, and firm in the hilt. The steel hilt has some minor blemishes and .tarnishing but would clean up if desired (we would leave as is, as it reflects the age of the sword very nicely). Grip also very good (some small wear / faded patches one side, but not so much), the leather field service scabbard a little worn and aged but still very good. The sword sheathes and draws very well.
