Victorian British 1827 Patt Rifle Regiment
Officer's Sword, sold |
In good condition, an 1827 pattern Victorian Rifles (Rifle Regiment)
officer's sword.

A very nice example of a Rifles officer's sword with the etching
pretty much still as good as the day it was made.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is well etched and in very good condition
except for some rust spots near the tip, firm in the hilt. The steel
hilt in very good order, could stand some cleaning. The fishskin
grip and associated twisted grip wire bindings are well above average.
The steel scabbard with staining, aging and light rusting but still
very sound. The sword sheathes and draws very well. There is no
maker's mark to the ricasso, it either was never there (indicating
the sword was bought through an outfitters where the officer or
outfitter did not see value in adding it.
A really well above average example for only £(sale pricing
info available for a small fee). Please quote item reference number
I19 (1056). Further / full sized pictures available upon request..
