1890 Pattern British Light Cavalry Trooper's
Sword, 4th Hussars, sold |
In very good condition, an Enfield made 1890P British light cavalry
trooper's sword, marked to the 4th Hussars, likely Boer War item.

Dated to 1893, this is an Enfield made / marked Sword, a late Victorian
British cavalry trooper's sabre of the 4th Hussars, whose troopers
saw action in the Boer War from 1899 onwards, so it is quite likely
this sword was there.

The 34 1/2 inch blade has multiple acceptance / inspection marks,
is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The steel Maltese
Cross hilt is equally in very good order, as is the grip, though
with some wear from use as is apparent. The steel scabbard also
very good, the sword sheathes and draws very well.
A well above average example. Please quote item reference number
H29. Further / large images available upon request.
