1908P WW1 Blackened British Cavalry Trooper's
Sword, Sold |
In very good condition, a blackened (for battle combat use) British
cavalry trooper's sword, dated February 1916, made by SB&N Ltd
(Sanderson Brothers & Neubold Limited).

It is rare to find 1908P's with their WW1 black paint still present,
as this was often removed by the regiments after the war, or by
subsequent private owners once the swords were decommissioned.

34 3/4 inch blackened blade is firm in the blackened hilt. Grip
good, but with the letters "H" and "Y" cut into
the grip; looks period, probably the regiment and trooper's initials.
Can not see the normal regimental marks inside the bowl guard perhaps
because of the paint. Priced to sell. Please quote item reference
H25 (1069). Further / full sized images available upon request.
